I was deeply saddened to hear of all the Rhino poaching. I have emailed a private game reserve there volunteering time to work with their security patrols actively searching and fighting the poachers. If anyone here is from Africa or has contacts there with people engaged in this fight, please let me know. I'm not interesting in donating money, only my time and rifle.

Hey you didn't notice my sig yet? Beware because you might get what you want. A lot of poachers get killed on site and they shoot guards too. A big horn can fetch as much as $1 000 000 in China or Vietnam, so ..

I am surprised you even had to ask. There are 2 of those per each one that existed just 20 years ago. Clearly they are not in danger of extinction.

I'm surprised wealthy nations haven't stationed armed forces in such places. It's obviously a worthy cause, but it also would make the military more likeable, and could get them a foothold in another land.
