My billion dollar idea

Unread postby Narz » Thu 08 Nov 2012, 13:15:38

What the world needs right now is a big Apocalyptic Comedy movie. People are drawn to the apocalyptic genre right now but people are also dying to escape & lol their problems away. To combine the two right now I think could be very successful but would also have to be very well done to succeed.

Why bother producing a movie? Just flip the channel to Fox News! That's full of laughs and doom, all wrapped up in a sanctimonious, self-agrandized, unhinged Murdoch-flavored bubble. Nothing is funnier than Bill O'Reilly rationalizing his own insanity.

I should also mention that Murdoch has made a couple of billion dollars using your idea, already.

Isn't that what the 2012 elections were? [smilie=new_popcornsmiley.gif]

That movie is not a comedy, it is a tragedy. Or a biography of America. Or the Republican playbook.

Still pretty f-in' funny though. :)

Mike Judge's next film, Extract, was terrible though. :(

Sounds like something Jack Black would do.

Hehe, this thread reminded me of this song...

It's debatable whether doom itself is funny, but doomerism prior to doom certainly can be. The original idea behind Business as Usual was to inject humor into doom. Not that the topic itself is humorous, but the way a red-piller dropping bombshells like a killjoy in the middle of a society that is blissfully ignorant is humorous.

I still crack up at my earliest light-hearted clips. If you are a doomer, you laugh at the corny, but if you're a corny, you laugh at the doomer. Either way, I present the doomer as a real miserable misfit, which is how I was at my lowest point. Now I'm a slightly less miserable misfit who has learned when to keep his mouth shut. How about some in and out burger?
