You may have noticed we shuffled the forums around some, if not take a look at the forums index ("All Forums" in the sidebar).

The open discussion, self defense and regional forums are now only accessible to registered members in the Members Only forum.
Only the Peak Oil Forums and Lobby are visible to guests.

This doesn't change anything for members, except the "Active Discussions" search in the sidebar (available to guests) no longer returns threads in the Members only forums.
Use the "New Posts" search button instead.

Over that last couple of years, US politics has become a bigger and bigger part of the conversation here and many times overshadows the real topic. That's all well and good, we are a discussion board after all and we all know politics is important to the way peak transpires.

But we are kind of drifting off topic right now at a time when there are many vested interests who'd like nothing better.

So with a goal of increasing readership and participation from across the political spectrum as well as around the world, we are hoping to keep the more contentious, strictly regional political arguments in the members only area, either Open Discussion or whichever regional forum.

No one likes their posts edited, moved, merged etc, so we aren't going to micromanage where you post but keep in mind the new Members Only area when starting threads not directly related to peak oil.
