We wander blissfully through meadows of life, dancing with flowers and ponies to the tune of metaphysical abstracts without a care of the true implications of the future of media uncertainties. For those of us with jobs and cultural exploitivity, there are signs and memories of days gone by that bring into focus the awareness of forgotten examples of extensive melodrama. Will we shield our senses from this history of ideologies?
I was recently reminded of a time when our media was in many respects opposed to principles of todays media. The end of TV at the end of the day had a literal ceremony of ending the day, now the culture of such simple things is lost for now, except in our preponderances.
Today I spend some of my spare time peeping and visiting the insanity of many timeless cults, watching the sheeple dance to the same scratched record as those of a hundred years ago. Cynicism transforms to a feeling of acceptance and control.
Can I remember a time before my current state of mind rooted itself? Sure, I remember times when I eagerly accepted the joy of a unifying crisis and for a while I was willing to ignore its conflict with facts. But I just don't have that quality of blocking out reality for long, and I found myself unpicking the insanity of yet another doomsday cult.
A part of me still protests, protests about how dumb everyone is. I'm the smartest all round person I know, even my friends who went to cambridge and oxford think that 9/11 was done by bin-laden, and rocdoc thinks the USA invaded iraq due to the weapons of mass destruction threat. That these smart in there specialism type people haven't a well formed general picture of whats going on implies how dumb the rest of you lot are.
Jesus....
