Petroleum Man Diplomacy

Unread postby charmcitysking » Sun 17 Nov 2013, 03:30:01

Greetings everyone,

I am undertaking a research essay for a course in college in which I hope to explore the impact of oil/NG on international relations. I was hoping to get a little help from you all if you don't mind!

Basically just looking for a story to tell. I would like to focus on major oil companies and how they negotiate to obtain drilling rights and things of that nature.

Also, if anyone can think of any famous "oil deals" or basically any information you might think of as relevant to the topic, it would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Get "the Quest " by Yergin .
the man is objectionable in the extreme , but certainly is knowledgeable about the oil and gas industry
he also is a good story teller

( warning , he is a cornucopian )

I would also read "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" too. It's available free on line https://archive.org/details/Confessions ... ohnPerkins
