I don't know, depends on the professor.

Some college student women might sleep with a professor, tape the whole thing, and blackmail him.

Then he'd be her tool, and have to give her an A, as well as recommendations and any other perks she could think of.

I think it depends on the person. There are users and abusers, and then there are kind and caring people in the world. The trick about people who want to use you, is just make sure that you can use them as much as they are using you. There are advantages in being someone's subordinate.

One thing you need to make sure of though, is if your dealing with someone who is a user/abuser, you have to make sure that you keep your options open. People like that will be nice to you to get you under their control, but once your dependent on them or don't have many options to leave their control, that's when they become extremely abusive. As long as they HAVE to be nice to you to get what they want, as long as they have to give something in exchange, they might do so. But if they don't have to, if your dependent on them, your screwed.

When dealing with people like that, it's always better to have one foot in and one foot out. If your dealing with someone whose abusive/evil, then make sure you never do anything with them that they can blackmail you with, or that they can keep you under their control. Make sure you always have options.

Another way of dealing with that is trying to make sure that they need you more than you need them. Which is another good reason to save money/wealth. It gives you a certain amount of security should your boss/employer/partner in business, decide to become abusive.
