"For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst and provide for it." - Patrick Henry

The level of injustice and wrong you endure is directly determined by how much you quietly submit to. Even to the point of extinction.

And to all ...

The Parting Glass
All the money that e'er I had
I spent it in good company
And all the harm I've ever done
Alas, it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now, I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Goodnight and joy be to you all!

Fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate'er befalls
Then gently rise and softly call
Goodnight and joy be to you all!

Of all the comrades that e'er I had
They're sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e'er I had
They'd wish me one more day to stay.
Since it fell into my lot
That I should rise, and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call
Goodnight and joy be to you all!
“There are three classes of people: those who see. Those who see when they are shown. Those who do not see.” ― Leonardo da Vinci

Insensible before the wave so soon released by callous fate. Affected most, they understand the least, and understanding, when it comes, invariably arrives too late.

II Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

The actual term is "Paddy". It is a mildly derogatory term for a NYC cop of Irish ancestry. (Which they also used to refer to themselves.) The once frequent application of the nightstick to those lingering on NYC street corners was referred to as "Paddy-whacking".

I celebrate the holiday with beer and "New England Boiled Dinner". That is corned beef, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, and onions, all added to one large pot of boiling water at just the right time to finish together - and this year, I got the timing perfect.

We do the same, but the best part is the next day when I make Rubens using my homemade sauerkraut. :)
