In the wake of the recent California oil spill just looked into aftermaths of some oil spills.
just posting this to gauge the ecological and health impacts short and long term after major oil spills. Seems that the short and especially the long terms effects are being downplayed in the media and by others. Here are some links to articles detailing this:

New evidence of long lasting effects of oil spills in this case the Gulf spill. Still killing dolphins after all this time.
