While I have no sympathies for the guy, I still object to how this story was presented. The REAL culprit here is the FDA which insists on its own extensive drug review for a drug to treat an illness that is rare here, and common everywhere else. The drug costs peanuts all through the tropics, and is manufactured in tropical countries in very large quantities.
The FDA needs to come up with a procedure for allowing importation of common, cheap drugs used to fight common illnesses in other parts of the world. American's shouldn't have to choose between a patient having to pay thousands of dollars, or a corporation losing millions of dollars, over a drug that costs $10 when produced by the jillions in India.
Now, the way the twerp behaved over the issue, well, he should have seen this sort of response coming.
Yes we are, as we are,
And so shall we remain,
Until the end.
