Martin Shkreli, who caused public outrage after raising the price of a prescription drug by more than 5,000 percent, was arrested on Thursday for engaging in what U.S. prosecutors said was a Ponzi-like scheme at his former hedge fund and a pharmaceutical company he previously headed.

On Twitter, the top hashtag and keyword related to his arrest was #Karma.

Does this mean O and Bernie Sanders and the DNC and the other Ds who took from money from this crook are going to return the all campaign donations they've received over the years from Skhreli?

If Skhreli is a crook, then all the money he's been giving to the Ds is dirty money.

While I have no sympathies for the guy, I still object to how this story was presented. The REAL culprit here is the FDA which insists on its own extensive drug review for a drug to treat an illness that is rare here, and common everywhere else. The drug costs peanuts all through the tropics, and is manufactured in tropical countries in very large quantities.

The FDA needs to come up with a procedure for allowing importation of common, cheap drugs used to fight common illnesses in other parts of the world. American's shouldn't have to choose between a patient having to pay thousands of dollars, or a corporation losing millions of dollars, over a drug that costs $10 when produced by the jillions in India.

Now, the way the twerp behaved over the issue, well, he should have seen this sort of response coming.
Yes we are, as we are,
And so shall we remain,
Until the end.

Shkreli's long standing support for the Ds and Obama and Obamacare and his history of donating to Ds like Bernie Sanders and Obama is well documented. Public records show Skhreli ha been a D and has been donating big bucks to the Ds for at least a decade.

Earlier this year Shkreli donated to both Bernie Sanders and the Democratic Senatorial Committee. Sanders returned the money (after the scandal broke) but the D Senate 2016 campaign never has returned Shkreli's money.

democratic-senatorial-campaign-commitee-took-$33400-from-big-pharmas-big-jerk-martin-shkreli

IMHO the Ds should return all the dirty money they took from this jerk---all 10 years of it.

cheers!

how about the MSM who cover what they are told to cover and do not care about really covering humanitarian stories about more horrors going on in the world or having happened like Rwanda or now Burundi which neighbors Rwanda and is showing signs of civil strife similar to Rwanda. Lots of Karma there.

Veteran Big Game Hunter Dies After Elephant, Killed by Gunfire, Collapses & Crushes Him

A professional big-game hunter was crushed to death by an elephant that had been shot, according to reports in South Africa.

Botha was leading a group of hunters western Zimbabwe on Friday afternoon when they stumbled upon a breeding herd of elephants in Hwange National Park, the Telegraph reported.

Startled, three elephant cows charged the group. Botha opened fire, according to News24, but a fourth elephant rammed him from the side, lifting him with her trunk. One of his fellow hunters then fired a shot. The elephant collapsed on top of Botha, killing him, News24 reported.

It is the same park where Cecil the Lion was shot dead by an American hunter in July 2015, sparking an international outcry.

Mr Botha's website says he specialised in hunting lions and leopards with dogs. His website lists various packages available to hunters in Zimbabwe, noting that animals including leopards, giraffes, buffalo and elephants could be hunted.

Botha's death comes just weeks after one of his friends was killed by crocodiles during a hunting expedition in Zimbabwe. Scott Van Zyl, 44, was with a local tracker and a pack of hunting dogs when he disappeared in mid-April. A week later, his remains were found in the carcass of a crocodile shot and killed by local authorities, the BBC reported.

land turning to desert is the greatest threat to wildlife in Hwange Park as well as many other Parts of the Globe according to Local Scientist Allan Savory. So what can be done about it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpTHi7O66pI&t=37s

I cannot help but to comment on how if what appears is going to happen happens, it will be major Karma. I am speaking of the die off if not outright extinction of the human species. We who have been solely responsible in our hubris and ignorance for setting up the conditions that have already begun the 6th Mass extinction on Earth and have caused already the extinction of many species and which promise to set in motion further die off of many species. It is so obvious that that would be indeed Karma for the Human species.

Looker - "It is so obvious that that would be indeed Karma for the Human species." Maybe Karna or just part of Mother Earth's plan she set in place billions of years ago. With the exception of the very few roaming around the planet today 99.9+ of all the species that ever existed have gone extinct.

In fact even being a hominid (Hominids are the group of species that includes humans, chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans) isn't completely safe: 10 have become extinct including some very close to homo sapiens on the tree.

Maybe it's just my paleontology training that leads to such feelings.

Looker - I forgot my closing point: why should we expect mankind to be exempt from Mother Earth's plan? We may have better intellect to resist her plan. But so far it doesn't look like it's kicking in yet. LOL.

Yup. At the end of the day, physics applies.

It's not hard to imagine that in the long term in this universe, any intelligent race only survives if they learn to control themselves in terms of endless breeding and consumption. And humans collectively appear to be WAY too stupid and self-serving to come within a country mile of making the cut.

I don't think it's about Karma per se, i.e. "deserving" to survive -- I think it's about intelligence and self control.
Given the track record of the perma-doomer blogs, I wouldn't bet a fast crash doomer's money on their predictions.
