gratitude for the moderators

I've always been impressed by the ability of this board to attract a broad spectrum of viewpoints and expertise without the discussions degenerating into the usual partisan bickering, conspiracy theories and outright paranoid schizophrenic rantings that are prevalent on much of the internet.

Too much of the comments section of the internet resembles spending your life in the day room at the asylum.

I have no idea how much behind the scenes effort is required to maintain this state of affairs but I'm grateful for it.

I third the praise for moderators- they are a website equivalent to police, clergy, lawmaker, judge in one. Without controls bad posters drive out good ones and order declines. They earn every dollar they get!

I enjoy the accolades as much as anyone, but if you are gonna say I am well paid then you need to start sending me money first. Everyone on staff here is an unpaid volunteer and that is how it has been since 2004 when this place went live.

Social mediacould stand to have some even handed Moderation applied to it. Maybe thisplace should be the model. PeakBook? PeakGram? PeakLink?

Yes the moderators on this site do a great job and the rules are fair and just. You guys should be paid. Hey maybe we can set up a foundation or something. haha only kidding. So that is part of the appeal of this site

I'm not even sure how much moderation is going on here anyway. I've read a few old threads with the occasional comment from a "permanently banned" poster, but theirs seems to be a tiny number.

Although the site is apparently not up 99.9999999% of the time, like the rest of our critical infrastructure, and you unpaid guys really need to get your shit together. Hehe...
