More metaphors unusual images that you never noticed when you watched stupid cartoons as a kid.

Now some of this is OK, even perhaps, good, but not much.

Sometimes a cartoon is just a cartoon. Enjoy it for what it is.

That cartoon is just a product of its times. In the 20th century there was a certain amount of prejudice against rural people with southern accents and their courtly way of speaking was seen as being laughable.

Thankfully, today we've transcended all the old prejudices and become a post-regional, diverse and more accepting society.

I loved those cartoons. It's a bygone era. A lot more may be going bye-bye very soon. I wish I could be young again. I would just shoot myself before I ever heard anything about peak whatever. Only kidding.

This is a cartoon Plantagenet, it's a a caricature - containing elements of the real and fiction.

They say that confession is good for the soul. I have an extensive collection of Warner Brothers, Looney Tunes, Merry Melodies, and Walter Lantz cartoons on DVD. The centerpiece of this collection is Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Yes, I watch them all at least once a year.

KaiserJeep,

If you enjoy Rocky and Bullwinkle then you really ought to seek out the cartoon that inspired it: Crusader Rabbit.

I remember being outraged (in my defense I point out that my family thought that professional wrestling was real) the first time I saw the new cartoon Rocky and Bullwinkle. "They stole the whole thing from Crusader Rabbit" sums up my thinking at the time.

I've travelled all over the world, JV. I'm now up to around 80 countries and counting.

Just last month I travelled to Sicily and Southern Italy and Napoli, stopping for a week on the Amalfi Peninsula and doing day hikes using the bus system. It was a pretty neat trip---I stayed in Amalfi in an 800 yr old Palazzo, and every day I'd take the local bus to Ravello or Positano (about $1.40 per ride) and do a hike down to the coast or between villages along that fabulous coast and then at the end of the hike catch a bus back to Amalfi and have a fantastic dinner at one of the little restaurants. The highlight was a swordfish ceviche with parmesan slices---which they swore was a traditional Amalfitano dish.

the hiking is great on the Amalfi Peninsula in Italy

Next month I'm going to Egypt. Wish me luck on that----Americans aren't very popular in the Arab world just now.

I'm going to Egypt next month----tourists numbers are waaaaaay down and the monuments aren't crowded

How about you, JV?---Have you ever been outside?

You have to do the Cairo Museum! It's amazing. Get a guide, they are so worth it. You can also bribe the guards on the pyramids and climb up them.

Dont sit on the grass outside the museum
I had kid soldier point his machine gun at my nose to tell me to get off.
The guy next to me gave him a cigarette and was allowed to stay on the grass
